Meet Karli,
I graduated from a 3000 hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, April 2013. I have chosen massage therapy to help people reach their fullest potentials in their active lives. I aim to educate communities and individuals about the importance of understanding our bodies and utilizing holistic treatments provided to experience a healthy balance in our lives. Massage therapy is beneficial for maintenance and injury prevention to supply us the homeostasis necessary to function.
Being active is important in my lifestyle, I have played soccer since I was 9 years old and still currently playing. I also love to hike, bike, swim, climb and travel plenty. I know its important to many others to be active, whether it be walking, house cleaning, having a physical job, running a marathon or being a professional athlete. As a Registered Massage Therapist I am able to help each individual reach their goals using techniques that I prefer, which are Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Joint Mobilization. I have great interest in postural alignment, rehabilitation and injury prevention. I partake in continued education classes to increase my practice knowledge and utilize new, improved techniques with individuals as needed. I evaluate individuals with intention of understanding their goals and treating accordingly. In addition to receiving a treatment focused on you, I provide more knowledge of our bodies and how we can work together to reach your goals.
My experience with massage therapy has expanded throughout these past years. I began my practice at You Body Therapy, where I learned the basics of running a business and improved my skills as a therapist. I now practice at Peninsula Family Chiropractic, working in multidisciplinary clinic allows my knowledge to expand deeper. In addition I provide massage therapy to staff members of Saanich Peninsula Hospital using chair massage. This helps staff have time to relax, alleviate pains and increase function during work hours.
I believe everyone should take care of themselves first before others, because it becomes difficult if we as a producer cannot produce well.
